Once the dismissal bell rings endling classes for the day, Southern Columbia Area's campus remains abuzz with the sounds of music and competition as nearly 400 students in grades 7 to 12 remain at school each day to participate in Fall 2016 co-curricular, extra-curricular, and interscholastic activities. The District strives to provide such opportunties for students as national studies repeatedly report that interscholastic athletic and fine arts programs build character, increase self-confidence, relieve tension, and support classroom learning by generating school pride, a sense of community, and by nurturing a feeling of belonging that makes students want to achieve.
