Are you in 9th or 10th grade? Have you made an impact helping your community before or after an emergency? Do you want to represent the youth perspective on disaster preparedness at a national level? If you answered "yes" to these questions, you could be on the next FEMA Youth Preparedness Council.

The FEMA Youth Preparedness Council was formed in 2012 to bring together youth leaders from across the country who are highly interested and engaged in advocating youth preparedness and making a difference in their communities. The Council members are selected based on their dedication to public service, their efforts in making a difference in their communities, and their potential to expand their impact as national advocates for youth preparedness.  The application deadline is March 20th. If interest, you can apply at  www.ready.gov/youth-preparedness-council. Good luck!
