Southern Columbia Area High School's Forensics Team turned in another fine showing, this time excelling at the 2015 PHSSL District 9 Tournament. At the District tournament, the Duo Interpretation team of Lena Becker and Aiyona Hayman finished second in that category, as did Adam Unger in Humorous Interpretation. Because they "placed" in Districts, the three students have earned the right to compete in the Pennsylvania High School Speech League State Championship Tournament to be held at Susquehanna University in Selingsgrove on March 20th and 21st. Currently, more than 150 schools are members of the League.

In addition, Lena has been invited to participate in Impromptu Speaking and Sami Abdul in Radio Commentary.  We extend congratulations to our talented orators and we wish them all the best of luck at states!  A special thanks is also extended to Mrs. Diane Unger, Mr. Ian McCoog and Mrs. Sally Meyer who serve the team as volunteer advisors.
