The recently concluded G.C. Hartman Elementary Center summer food drive proved to be a tremendous success with 867 food items being collected. The drive spearheaded by the school's students and staff will benefit the Food For Friends Food Bank, located at the First United Methodist Church in Catawissa. The food bank which serves all Southern Columbia Area School District residents in need, distributes food the last Thursday of each month.
