G.C. Hartman Elementary students are conducting a food drive to benefit the Food For Friends Food Bank located in Catawissa.  The food bank serves all residents of the Southern Columbia Area School District. The Food Bank has requested specific items including boxed pasta (spaghetti), macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, and canned tuna (they received other canned food items through previous drives).  The K-4 homeroom collecting the most items will be treated to a pizza and ice cream party.  The drive involving SCA's students will continue though Friday, May 23rd. In the event you wish to dontate food beyond May 23rd, donations can also be dropped off at the following address:

Families in need of food can stop by the Food Bank the last Thursday of each month, from 5:00-7:00 PM. The Food Bank asks that  recipients bring a proof of address (i.e. electric bill, drivers license, etc.)
