The First Annual Kickball Classic organized by the teachers' Education Associations of Southern Columbia Area and Mount Carmel Area was a huge success with several hundred canned goods collected. The canned goods will be donated to local food banks. "The weather was perfect, and everyone involved in the event had a great time," stated Southern Columbia Area Middle School Teacher and SCEA President Mike Venna. "I would like to personally thank everyone who participated in the game or came out to watch.  I would also like to thank anyone else who participated by making a donation."

While it was a day with all winners and no losers- if you like keeping score- the Mount Carmel teachers won the contest 13-9. The teachers plan to bring back the Kickball Classic next year with the game being played at Southern Columbia Area. Congrats and thank you to the event's organizers and participants!
