Southern Columbia Area Middle School students who have exhibited positive behaviors throughout December will be treated to the Reindeer Games Celebration, which promises to be a fun-filled event highlighted by music, prize drawings, and plenty of games! Organized by teacher Mrs. Amy Phillips and her Middle School Student Council, the celebration is part of the School Wide Positive Behavior in Schools initiative which defines and teaches positive social and behavioral expectations such as respect, honor, achievement. The Middle School staff monitors student behavior on a daily basis and acknowledges and rewards positive behavior at the end of each month. “The number of students that have earned the monthly celebration has been increasing with each month ,” stated Middle School teacher Mrs. Cathy Scicchitano, one of the school’s SWPBIS leaders. “Great job to all Middle School staff and students for their efforts to improve student work ethic and accountability!” Many thanks are extended to all involved in their worthy effort and best wishes to our Middle School students in earning your antlers!
