Congratulations are extended to Mr. William Callahan who was appointed as Middle School Principal at the September 15th Board of Education meeting. Mr. Callahan is presently an Assistant Middle School/High School Principal with the Shamokin Area School District, serving in that role since 2004. Mr. Callahan's staff at Shamokin Area describe him as "firm but fair" and as someone "who listens to and respects other's voices and opinions."  He is also recognized as an "administrator who can connect with students." Mr. Callahan's career in education began in 1994 as a Seventh Grade Math teacher for the Mt. Carmel Area School District. Through the years he has also served as both a High School Boys and Girls Basketball Coach. Mr. Callahan and his family reside in Elysburg with his children attending Southern Columbia. His wife, Maria, is a teacher in the District. It is anticipated Mr. Callahan will begin his tenure as SCA Middle School Principal during the first week of October.
