The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association‎ (PIAA) has released its long-anticipated enrollment classifications which has reclassified or reorganized Pennsylvania's high school's into new divisions beginning with 2016-2017, school year. These changes will be in effect the following year too. The Southern Columbia Area Boy's Basketball team will compete in 3A, while Baseball, Field Hockey, Football, Girls Basketball, Softball, Track, and Wrestling will be grouped in the 2A division. Boys and Girls Cross Country and Boys and Girls Soccer will compete in the A division. Southern Columbia Area students who participate in the swimming co-op with Bloomsburg Area High School will compete in 2A, as will students who participate in the Golf co-op with Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School.
