The District, in partnership with the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit, is pleased to announce that a Pre-K Counts program will soon be available to Southern Columbia Area School District residents. Pre-K Counts is a free program available for children who are between ages three and five (who are not yet enrolled in kindergarten) or may be at risk of school failure – either because of family income level, language, cultural or special needs issues. For example, a family of four is eligible if the annual household income is at or below $72,750.The Pre-K Counts program will be located in G.C. Hartman Elementary Center and will operate Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM., beginning in March.

The program is being funded through an Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) grant obtained by the CSIU. Applications for enrollment are now being accepted.
