This coming weekend, the Southern Columbia Area High School Theatre Arts Ensemble will present Spoon River Anthology. According to Theatre Arts Ensemble Director Louise Baran, the play is based on a poetry collection of Edgar Lee Masters and built around the members of the mythical community of Spoon River. The actors will be sharing the thoughts of these community members on the subjects of love, children, death, birth, and the joyous hope of life.

"The stage has been transformed into an eclectic café where patrons can enjoy coffee, tea, and sweet desserts while listening to wide-ranging music and poetry readings," stated Mrs. Baran. "We cordially invite staff, students, and the Southern Columbia Community to join us Friday at 7 PM, Saturday at 6 PM or Sunday at 6 PM  in the Auditorium Café." Tickets are $5 and can be purchased through any cast member, Mrs. Fegley in the guidance office, or Woody’s Place in Catawissa.
