Once again, the Senior Class and the High School Art Club are joining forces to help combat local hunger through a community service project known as the Empty Bowls. The students intend to raise funds which will be donated to the Manna for the Many, a Shamokin-based, food bank. The students are currently selling $5.00 tickets for the Third Annual Empy Bowl Fundraiser which will be held on Sunday, March 29th in the High School Cafeteria from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.   Each ticket will include a hand-crafted bowl, created and decorated by the Art students, and unlimited servings of soup, bread and drinks. According to Becky Harder, a senior student and Art Club member, guests will keep their selected bowl "as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world."

If you would like to purchase a ticket or donate food items for this event, you can contact Class of 2016 Advisor, Mrs. Louise Baran or Art Club Advisor, Mrs. Casie Baker. You can also make inquiries via e-mail at emptybowl@scasd.us.  Tickets will also be sold at the door.
