Southern Columbia Area School District will begin using text messaging as part of its communication with parents and students through School Messenger and the School Messenger app beginning August 14, 2020. (Download the School Messenger app and access an informational video on your mobile device here.)  In order to receive text messages from your teachers, coaches and for general School Messenger broadcasts (emergency closings, delays, events, general announcements, etc.), your mobile phone number must be listed in Sapphire and you must opt-in by texting "Y" or "Yes" to 67587.  Students who have not completed the "Update Student Information Only" form in their Sapphire student portal must do so to provide their phone number in order to enable text messaging.  To view a flyer regarding the text messaging feature, please click here

Southern Columbia is engaged in a yearlong initiative to Soar into Space in hopes of being chosen as a downlink site for a live feed emanating from the International Space Station. If chosen, students and staff will be afforeded the unique opportunity to speak with the astronauts currently on the space station sometime in spring 2020.
