Southern Columbia Middle School would like to announce that 5th Grade Orientation will be held on Thursday August 25th at 6:00 PM in the Middle/High School Auditorium. The program will begin at 6:00 PM in the auditorium, with Mr. Callahan, Principal welcoming the parents. This will be followed by Mr. Callahan giving information for both students and parents/guardians about their school day.  The students will then be sent to their homerooms to receive their locker number and combination.  Students will have time to practice opening their lockers and listen to their homeroom teachers discuss homeroom procedures. Meanwhile, the parents/guardians will remain in the auditorium to hear from Mr. Callahan who will speak about Attendance and Truancy, Mrs. Walters, Guidance Counselor who will talk about guidance services and SAP Team, and Mrs. Holleran, Food Service Director speaking about the Café.  Students can bring money to put in their Café-Trac account on this night. Later, the parents/guardians will meet up with the students in their homerooms to get important back to school information and forms.  These forms must be returned on the first day of school. Also, students will receive their schedules and be able to walk around the school to locate their classes.  The School District encourages all 5th graders and their parents/guardians to attend this event.
