The Salvation Army is hosting a sign-up meeting today from 1:00-6:00 PM for families in need of holiday assistance. Sign-ups will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Bloomsburg, located at 345 Market Street. The program is available to low-income families living in zip code 17820. To be eligible for assistance you must bring the following information to the meeting: valid photo ID; Social Security card for each household member; proof of income for all household members; and birth certificates for children 12 years and younger.

Southern Columbia is engaged in a yearlong initiative to Soar into Space in hopes of being chosen as a downlink site for a live feed emanating from the International Space Station. If chosen, students and staff will be afforeded the unique opportunity to speak with the astronauts currently on the space station sometime in spring 2020.
