SCA Hosts Middle School County Chorus

The Columbia-Montour 2018 Middle School County Chorus, hosted by Southern Columbia, received rave reviews from an appreciate audience which filled the auditorium to capacity.

FBLA Members Qualify for States

Southern Columbia's FBLA chapter enjoyed a banner day at the Regional Leadership Conference, registering an unprecendented eleven first place finishes, and sending twenty-seven students onto State Competition. "Our Region consists of seventeen area schools, so to have this many winners is really a salute to all of our great teachers!" exclaimed advisor Mrs.

School Board News

The Board of Education welcomed back a former director and bid farewell to another at a special meeting for general purposes held on January 2nd. It also set a new meeting start time, 7:00 PM, for all regular meetings beginning Monday, January 8th.

Foundation Announces Teacher Grant Program

The Southern Columbia Community Foundation recently announced the launch of a Teacher Grant program whose intent is "to uphold educational excellence in Southern Columbia Area public schools by promoting innovative opportunities that inspire students." The Teacher Grant program will fund as many a five proposals in this grant cycle, with awards of $200-$1,000 possible. Teachers are invited to submit an application through February 28, 2018, with awards announced on Teacher Appreciation Day (May 8th).

Santa Visits Southern Columbia!

SCA's student musicians make the holidays especially festive in our schools as they not only fill our auditorium with beautiful concert music but also travel the halls, classrooms and offices of the District's buildings performing Yuletide favorites!

3rd Grade Musical Warms Hearts!

The Third Grade Class Choir, directed by Mrs. Monna Tomtishen, once again warmed the hearts of an appreciative audience with an energetic performance of the musical, On With the Snow! The holiday show featured six songs and over 30 speaking parts- all well-executed and well-received!

Seven Players, Coach Roth Named to All-State Team

Accolades for outstanding performance and achievement throughout the 2017 season continued for the Tiger Football Team as their Head Coach and seven players were named to the Pennsylvania Football Writers Class 2A All-State Team.
