District Receives Safety Grant

Congrats and many thanks are extended to School Police Officer Clay Fahringer whose application to the Williams Atlantic Sunrise Community Grant program has been awarded. The District will receive $5,000 which will be used to purchase a Digital Portable Radio. The radio has dual band capabilities allowing Officer Fahringer to use it to communicate with District staff as well with emergency responders such as the 911 Center who have converted their radios to a digital frequency.

"Narcotic Detector Dogs" Perform Search as part of the District's Safe Schools Efforts

As part of the District’s continuing efforts to ensure that students attending Southern Columbia Area schools have a safe, drug free, and healthy environment in which to learn, the District, in cooperation with the Locust Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police, conducted a drug search of our Middle School and High School using specially-trained dogs who are able to sniff out drugs.

2016 Relay for Life

The Southern Columbia Relay for Life will be held on Friday, May 20th, at Tiger Stadium on the campus of Southern Columbia High School from 4:00pm to Midnight.  Please help us fight cancer by stopping by to enjoy entertainment, food, and activities.  This year’s theme is “GAME ON – THE CURE STARTS HERE”.  For the full schedule of events, please read more . . .

Time Travelers Program Offers Unique Summer Fun!

The Susquehanna River Valley Heritage Alliance, a collaborative effort of museums and historical societies, is offering a Passport Program from May 1st through August 16th to stimulate interest in local history among area students. The "passport" will list participating organizations, incentives, and opportunities to learn about area history.

Students Headed to FBLA Nationals!

Congratulations to Amara Nazario and Alexys Yannes, both members of the Class of 2016, whose successful Public Service Announcement project has earned them a trip to the FBLA National Leadership Conference to be held in Atlanta, Georgia this summer.

2nd Grade Performance of "ARF"

2nd grade will be performing the musical "ARF" on Thursday, May 12th in the high school auditorium. The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m.
 

Summer Work Available for Students

The District is now accepting applications for summer student custodial workers.  These jobs are open to all students ages 14 and older.   Employment will begin following the last day of school and will run Monday through Friday, 9:00 am-2:00 pm.
