MS Students Encouraged to Earn their Antlers!

Southern Columbia Area Middle School students who have exhibited positive behaviors throughout December will be treated to the Reindeer Games Celebration, which promises to be a fun-filled event highlighted by music, prize drawings, and plenty of games! Organized by teacher Mrs.

Community Dinner Ushers in Holiday Season!

 The Holiday season at Southern Columbia was ushered in with the celebration of the 10th Annual Senior Citizen Holiday Dinner.  The dinner, which has become a cherished tradition at SCA, was well-attended with many guests expressing appreciation for the delicious meal served and beautiful music performed by the Gospel Carolers and Brass Ensemble.

Viewing and Listening Options for Friday's Playoff Game

If you can't make it to Bald Eagle High School to cheer on the Tigers you can still follow all the action thanks to a variety of broadcast options. As has been the case throughout the season, you can listen to the game on the Black Diamond Sports Network with Dr. Phil Manney, Mr. Jeff Nevius, and SCA teacher, Mr. Dave Fegley calling the action.

Tickets for Friday's Game Are Now On Sale

Tickets for the Tigers PIAA 2A Semifinal Football contest against Ligonier Valley High School will be sold in the High School Office through noon, Friday. Tickets are $4.00 for students and $8.00 for adults.  Tickets can also be purchased at this link through TIK-A-TAP. Tickets sold at this site have a 1% handling fee added to the base price. All tickets sold at the gate will be $8.00.

Students Lend a Helping Hand to Local Food Banks

The annual Powder Puff football game proved to be a success once again generating much-needed funds and food items for local food banks. The event was organized by Mr. Tom Donlan and the Varsity Club and proved to be a fun-filled day for all involved!

Honor Society Inducts New Members

On November 16th, the Induction Ceremony of the Southern Columbia Area Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society was held, welcoming 60 inductees. Enrollment in the honor societies are reserved for select students who must meet rigorous standards.

PIAA Class AA District IV Champs!

Congratulations to the Tiger Football Team on their impressive 49-21 victory over South Williamsport High School. The victory allowed the Tigers to capture the 2016 PIAA Class AA District IV Championship giving them their 25th District IV title in the last 27 years.

Video Pays Homage to Service of Alumni

Sharing a video tribute to "Southern" graduates who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. The video was prepared by teacher Ms. Jen Stine and was presented at the High School's 2016 Veterans Day Assembly.

SCA Awarded Safe Schools and Farm to School Grants

Pennsylvania's Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera recently announced that $2.6.million in competitive grants have been awarded to 125 public school entities through the Safe Schools Targeted Grant program. Southern Columbia Area's grant application was among those selected for funding ($13,500) and will allow all School District employees to receive training designed to enhance anti-violence efforts and promote an environment of even greater productivity, safety, and learning.
