Informal senior pictures and younger pictures are due by November 18, 2016, at the latest.  These optional submissions must be emailed to Mr. Mensch at rmensch@scasd.us.

Distinguished Alumnus Honored at Student Assembly

Eight alumni of "Southern Area" schools were recently recognized as Distinguished Alumnus in a ceremony held before the District's high school students and staff. Previously, the District recognized a single alumnus as part of its annual high school commencement exercise. Because of the many successes of its graduates, the award was expanded to include more recipients.

Bond Refinancing to Boost Technology Efforts

The District's recent refinancing of a 2011 bond has given it the opportunity to boost its technology infrastructure ensuring that it will be fully capable of supporting Southern Columbia Area's K-12 learning goals for many years to come. The bond refinancing has resulted in a $1.684 million payback to the District which is being reinvested back into its schools to improve learning, and the learning environment, for our students and staff.

SCA Announces Red Ribbon Week Activities

The Southern Columbia Area School District will be participating in the annual Red Ribbon Campaign during the week of  October 24-28, 2016. Since 1985, Red Ribbon Week has been used as a vehicle for people and communities across the nation to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. At SCA, each grade level will decorate their classroom doors and hallways with messages that demonstrate their commitment to a drug-free lifestyle.

Middle School Students to Stage Lip Sync Battle!

The Middle School's Fall Celebration will feature a Lip Sync Battle pitting 5th grade vs. 6th grade and 7th grade vs. 8th grade. One prize per group will be awarded with the top team in each division winning $100!  $20 gift cards will be awarded to second and third place teams.
The epic Monster Mash battle will take place on Monday, October 31st.
