Annual Events Mark a Fun Way to Close Out Another School Year!

Southern Columbia's Pickleball Tournament and "The Great SCA Egg Drop" are two popular annual events not only because they keep students highly-engaged and entertained, but also because their occurrence signals that the start of summer vacation is near!

Vocalist Named a Top 4 Finalist

Congratulations to Mikaela Brouse whose performance in the 2019 Teen Star Competition earned her a Top 4 finish.  The talented vocalist finished fourth in the contest and was awarded one of the competition's grand prizes ($350).  Southern Columbia's other finalists, Zach Honabach, Kiersten Brecht, and Dylan Kramer each received a $100 prize.

Decision Captures National Attention

Congratulations to junior student Julian Fleming for his success in contemplating, and ultimately deciding upon, a college selection decision, all while navigating under the steady microscope of print, broadcast and social media outlets, and their millions of followers nationwide, eager for  him to decide.

Ceremonies Allow Seniors to Celebrate and Reflect

Baccalaureate and the High School Awards Ceremony were held May 29th, giving the Class of 2019 two additional opportunities to celebrate and reflect on their experiences and accomplishments as high school students.

Ag Day Tradition Continues!

Ag Day 2019 proved to be a shining example of a "student-centered classroom" as this year's version of the popular event was largely organized and managed by a group of high school students determined to carry on this tradition.

Teacher Grants Awarded by SCCF

The Southern Columbia Community Foundation in its pursuit of “upholding educational excellence” and “promoting innovative opportunities that inspire students” awarded five new grants to appreciative teachers as part of its 2019 Teacher Grant Program.

SCA Captures 6 Medals at State Meet

Southern Columbia's Track and Field athletes made strong showings at the PIAA State Championships coming home with six state medals in individual and unit competitions.
