Honor Societies Induct New Class of Select Students

Each year, an elite group of Southern Columbia Area students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, are recognized for their accomplishments through induction into either the National Honor Society (reserved for students in grades 10-12) or the National Junior Honor Society (reserved for students in grades 9 or 8).

PIAA Reclassifications Announced

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association‎ (PIAA) has released its long-anticipated enrollment classifications which has reclassified or reorganized Pennsylvania's high school's into new divisions beginning with 2016-2017, school year. These changes will be in effect the following year too. The Southern Columbia Area Boy's Basketball team will compete in 3A, while Baseball, Field Hockey, Football, Girls Basketball, Softball, Track, and Wrestling will be grouped in the 2A division.

Congratulations to Alexis Burd, Class of 2017, who attended the November 16th Board of Education meeting as Southern Columbia Area's first-ever, Student Representative to the Board of Education.

2015 Speak Up Survey Seeking Community Input

Through December 18th, Southern Columbia Area stakeholders will have the opportunity to join more than 400,000 K-12 students, educators and parents worldwide in completing the Speak Up 2015 online survey and sharing their ideas about education and technology with our national leaders. The annual survey is open to all public, private and charter schools in the country.

Harlem Wizards back by Popular Demand!

The Harlem Wizards are coming to Southern Columbia Area High School, Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30 pm.  The evening promises to be a fun filled event that is great for kids and adults and will guarantee to put a smile on your face!  This event is hosted by the boys and girls basketball boosters.

BOYS vs. GIRLS SOCCER CHALLENGE

The Boys and Girls Soccer Teams will battle for SCA bragging rights on Saturday, November 14th, at 11:00 a.m at the SCA varsity soccer field.  It is a friendly rivalry but sure to be an intense battle! The concession stand will be open.  All proceeds from the event will be donated to the local fire companies.   Please come out and support your local fire companies.    Click here to see the flyer.

POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL RETURNS!

On Sunday, November 15th, the Varsity Club will be sponsoring a Powder Puff Football game at Tiger Stadium.  9th and 10th grade teams will play at 5:00 p.m. followed by the 11th and 12th grade game.  The admission price is $2.00 and everyone is asked to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item to support our local food banks.
