Distinguished Alumni Inducted

Since 2008, twenty-four graduates of "Southern Area schools" have been bestowed the recognition of being a Distinguished Alumnus. Three of these graduates were recently inducted in a ceremony held before present-day, Southern Columbia Area students and staff.

Scholar Athlete Award

Congratulations to Morgan Cole, Class of 2019, who was recently honored as Scholar Athlete of the Week. The award is sponsored by The Daily Item, SUN Orthopaedics of Evangelical and PPL Electric Utilities and honors local student-athletes who thrive in the classroom, in the community and on Susquehanna Valley playing fields.

Student-Athletes Reach Milestones!

Congratulations to Meghan Longenhagen, Julian Fleming, and Gaige Garcia who reached important milestones in their respective sports. Meghan, Class of 2019, recorded her 50th career goal while helping the Lady Tigers Field Hockey Team capture the Warrior Run Tournament on September 22nd. Since then, Meghan has increased her career total to 59.

The second edition of Tiger Tidings, the newsletter published by the Southern Columbia Alumni Community, has been mailed.

Tiger Alumni Honored by Teams

Homecoming 2018 was capped with tributes to the 1977 Field Hockey and 1998 Girls Soccer teams during special ceremonies held at Tiger Stadium. The 1977 Field Hockey squad played for the state championship finishing with a silver medal. The team posted a record of 16-2-1, 13 of which were shutouts.

SCA Represented at Congressional Briefing

Southern Columbia Area school officials recently participated in a panel discussion regarding technology use in schools and educational equity as part of a Congressional Briefing held at the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C.
