Unique Food Drive Set to Begin!

A monthlong food drive will pit grades 5 through 12 in a contest to see which group of students can collect the most non-perishable food. Winning the contest has one qualifier- the amount of food collected must outweigh High School Principal Mr. Jim Becker!

Wrestlers Advance to State Title Match!

Congratulations to the Tiger Wrestling Team on advancing to the PIAA 2A Duals Championship match!  The Tigers used a total team effort to defeat Chestnut Ridge HIgh School in the State Semi-Final, 30-27, earning the right to compete for the State Title!

Wrestling Team Claims District Crown!

Congratulations to the coaches and student-athletes of the Tiger Wrestling Team on capturing the 2018 District 4 2A Duals Championship! As District champions, the Tigers will advance to the PIAA AA Team Championships which open for Southern Columbia on Thursday,February 8th with Preliminary Round act

Students Perform in District Chorus

Seven Southern Columbia students were among the Susquehanna Valley's finest singers selected to perform in the PMEA District Chorus held at at Milton High School. The 2018 PMEA District 8 Chorus, directed by Dr. Ryan Beeken of Indiana State University of Pennsylvania, capped the three-day festivities with a public concert on January 27th.

Community Group Assists Students In Need

Recently the Women's Guild of the Numidia Valley Bible Fellowship presented Southern Columbia's Food Service Director Kathy Holleran with a check for $600 to be used to clear the negative lunch balance accounts of G.C. Hartman students in need.

Student of the Month Program Introduced

Effective with the new year, High School Student Council has introduced a Student of the Month recognition program. The student of the month is selected for "displaying excellent citizenship by working together with classmates in a cooperative manner and exhibiting good behavior."  Each student must also demonstrate "exem

Grapplers Pay Tribute to Tiger Legend

On January 29th, Southern Columbia's Wrestling program honored the late Jim “Steck” Williams for his decades of service and support of the team. An ardent supporter of Southern Columbia and all area students, Mr. Williams was a fixture at local sporting events, cheering on and providing encouragement to student-athletes. "Stecky" served SCA's Wrestling program as scorekeeper for 35 years.

HART Promotes STEM Education

STEM education in the District recently received a booster thanks to the efforts of HART volunteers who sponsored a STEM Family Fun Night. The event, open to students of G. C. Hartman Elementary School and their families, provided opportunities to engage in a variety of interactive science activities, including stations on making hovercrafts, building bridges, and codemaking.

Students Accept MS Science Challenge

Inspired by Science lessons taught in Mr. Anthony Pecora's classroom, several teams of Southern Columbia Middle School students entered the Children's Museum Science Fair, earning prizes awarded to the top three projects in each grade, grades 4-8.
