FBLA Yard Sale and Craft Show

The public is invited to attend the First Annual Southern Columbia FBLA Spring Fling to be held in the High School parking lot, Sunday, May 24th from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The event will feature yard sales, craft vendors, food, music, face painting, games, and a dunk tank! Inquiries for yard sale space or a craft booth can be made to FBLA advisors Mrs. Lori Shively or Mrs. Kristie Anderson.

Sports Physicals

Free sports physicals for students entering grades 7 through 12 for the 2015-2016, school year, interested in playing interscholastic sports, will be offered on Thursday, June 18th, from 2:45 PM until 8:00 PM in the High School training room. Physicals are by appointment only.  Parents can schedule an appointment by clicking on the Sports Physicals link on the Athletics webpage.   Appointments can also be scheduled by calling Athletic Trainer Mrs.

Development Meeting This Morning

The Southern Columbia Area School District Board of Directors will hold an Ad Hoc Committee meeting to discuss development efforts at 8:15 AM in the District Office Conference Room.  This is a public meeting.

Safe Schools News

Earlier today, the District, in cooperation with the Locust Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police, conducted a drug search of the Middle School and High School using specially-trained dogs who are able to sniff out drugs. The dogs used are highly specialized and certified for this purpose.

Student-Designed Tiger Logo Enjoys Widespread Appeal

Over the past year, you may have noticed a new Tiger logo appearing on SCA publications, stationery, and Tiger wear. The new Tiger head logo, the creation of aspiring artist, Madison Yocum, Class of 2015, has proven to be very popular and is now generally recognized as the District's "official" logo.

ES and MS Clothing Drive

The Middle School LIfe Skills Class, in conjunction with Central Susquehanna Opportunities, is conducting a used clothing drive today in the elementary and middle schools to benefit local charities. Donations of clothing, shoes, backbacks,, purses, and curtains are being accepted. Families who wish to make a donation can do so by sending the needed items into school with their child. All students who make a donation will be entered into a contest making them eligible to win Knoebels tickets, Knoebels Swim and Slide passes, pizza, basketballs, and more!

Class of 2015 Commencement

The Graduation Ceremony for Southern Columbia Area High School's Class of 2015 will take place this afternoon at 2:00 PM in Mitrani Hall of the Haas Center for the Arts, located on the campus of Bloomsburg University. Congratulations graduates!
