"Annie" Encore Production Wraps Up with Two Shows

The final performances of the Encore production of the Broadway musical "Annie" will be held at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the High School Auditorium.  Reserved seating is $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for students and children. All tickets sold at the door on the night of the performance will be $10.00.

Tickets for this Year's Musical Now on Sale!

This year's Encore production will be Annie, a Broadway musical based on the comic strip Little Orphan Annie. Among the popular musical selections to be performed are Tomorrow and It's the Hard Knock Life. Southern Columbia's production will be performed March 20th and March 21st at 7:00 PM, and March 22nd at 2:00 PM, in the High School Auditorium.

"Annie" Pancake Breakfast

The Southern Columbia Area Music Department and Encore invite you to a Pancake Breakfast to be served in the High School Cafeteria from 9:00-11:00 AM. Come on out and meet the cast of this year's musical, Annie, and enjoy a delicious breakfast! Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for students with all proceeds being used to support the Music Department and Encore.

SCA Welcomes District IV Wrestlers

Southern Columbia Area will be the host site for the Southern division of the District IV Wrestling Sectionals. All weigh-ins are at 9:00 AM, doors open at 9:15 AM, and wrestling begins at 10:00 AM. Teams from the following AA schools will be participating: Danville, Lewisburg, Line Mountain, Midd West, Mifflinburg, Mt. Carmel, Southern Columbia, Shamokin, Sugar Valley Charter, CMAVTS, and Milton.

HS and Elementary Students Engage in Unique, Interdisciplinary Lesson

Recently, elementary teacher Mrs. Sue Stone, and secondary teachers Mrs. Casie Baker and Mrs. Lori Shively, created a "monster of a lesson" that afforded their students a meaningful learning experience. Each of the Third grade students in Mrs. Stone’s class were tasked with creating a drawing of an imagined monster and giving their monster an original name.

SCA Welcomes Officer Fahringer

Officer Clay Fahringer has begun service as the District's first School Police Officer after his nomination was reviewed and approved by the Columbia County Court of Common Pleas. The School Police Officer position, created through a successful Safe Schools Grant application, will add another tier of security designed to keep Southern Columbia Area students and staff safe.
