Student Achievement
We were pleased with the results of our efforts last year as PSSA and Keystone data released this summer showed significant improvement in student achievement. We look to build on this progress. PSSA Math: 3rd Grade 10.2% gain, 5th Grade 12.4% gain; PSSA  Reading: 3rd Grade 8.2% gain, 4th Grade 11% gain, 6th Grade 7.4% gain;  PSSA Writing: 5th Grade 25% gain!; Keystone Exams: All Algebra I students in grades 6-11 made a 13.4% gain, Biology 15.4% gain, Literature 5.1% gain.

New Medication Guidelines In Effect

Effective with the 2014-2015, school year, the following medication guidelines are in effect:
  • For any student needing a medication during school hours,  parents/guardians must bring the medication to their child's school and hand the medication directly to the school nurse.
  • A Physician's Order is required for all over-the-counter medication and prescribed medication.

Student Accident Insurance and Free and Reduced Price Meals Applications Now Available

Business Manager Mike Sokoloski has announced applications for Voluntary Student Accident Insurance are now available. "Typically, medical bills as a result of injuries to a child while at school are the parent/guardian’s responsibility," stated Mr. Sokoloski. "The Voluntary Student Accident Insurance program offered by the School District could help offset these costs."  For $30 a year, parents/guardians can purchase protection which covers their child during school hours. "Round-the-clock," 24-hour-coverage is available for $112 a year.
