Summer "To-Do-List": Complete Lunch Application

The Southern Columbia Area School District offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast costs for all students are $1.60. Lunch costs for students in grades K through 4 are $2.25 and $2.50 for those in grades 5-12). Your child(ren) may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. The reduced price for breakfast is $.30 and $.40 for lunch.

Students Create Public Service Announcements

Southern Columbia Area was among the school districts awarded a 2inspirePA grant whose objective was to inspire students to create PSAs or Public Service Announcements encouraging classmates, and other teens, to stay drug and alcohol-free. SCA's campaign also led students to tackle issues such as sleep deprivation.

SCA to Host Local Police Officer Training

The regional terrorism task force, which protects Southern Columbia and surrounding communitites, is sponsoring a two-day training for local officers on best practices in responding to an active shooter event. The training will be held on Southern Columbia's campus today and tomorrow.

Congratulations to the Class of 2017!

Hearty congratulations are extended to the ninety-two members of the Class of 2017 on meeting all challenges posed to them throughout their K-12 careers! We wish each and every graduate continued success in meeting- and exceeding- those challenges still to come as they move forward in their lives and careers.

Honor Grads Recognized

Among the students recognized at the 2017 commencement exercise were sixteen students who earned the distinction of being named an Honor Graduate. In order to receive this honor, students must complete ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade with a 95% or higher average.
