Chris Herren to Speak on Substance Abuse

Former NBA player Chris Herren will speak on the problem of substance abuse this evening at 7:00 PM at Bloomsburg University's Gross Auditorium in Carver Hall. Chris will share his very personal story of abuse and recovery. Seating is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. Doors open at 6:00 PM. New to You Exchange Now Open for Business!

A clothing exchange/swap program, New to You Exchange, is now available to all High School students. According to organizer Ms. Emily Karas, a wide variety of clothing, accessories, and toiletries are available for both male and female students at no charge.

SCA Excels at 2017 Envirothon!

Southern Columbia Area was represented at the 2017 Envirothon by five teams of students, led by advisor Ms. Kristen Vitkauskas. The teams, consisting of five students each, engaged in team building and leadership experiences, as well as training and testing in five natural resource categories: soils and land use, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, and current environmental issues.

Foundation Events Kick Off Festive Weekend

Registration for the Inaugural Southern Columbia Community Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament at Knoebels Three Ponds Golf Course will begin at 8:00 AM with a 9:00 AM Shotgun Start. Dinner will be served beginning at 1:30 PM. Doors for the Alumni and Friends Banquet hosted by Massers will open at 6:00 PM with dinner starting at 7:00 PM.

Alumni and Friends Picnic

The Southern Columbia Community Foundation's Alumni and Friends Picnic will be held Knoebels Amusement Park beginning at 12:00 noon.  The picnic will be held Pavilion L which is located directly behind the new blue and yellow roller coaster.  Ride tickets will be on sale from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.  Dinner will be served from 2:00 until 2:45 PM with tickets being handed out prior to dinner.  

Alumni and Friends Invited to an Open House

Southern Columbia's Alumni and friends are invited to an Open House of the High School from 2:00-4:00 PM.  There will be light refreshments provided by SCA's Family and Consumer Science classes.

Tigers State Championship Baseball Team to be Honored

The 2000 State Championship Baseball Team will be honored in between the JV and Varsity baseball games against Line Mountain. The ceremony is tentatively scheduled to begin at 3:15 PM following the conclusion of the JV game which begins at 1:00 PM.
