Community Helps G.C. Hartman Students Celebrate Reading!

During the week of February 27th-March 3rd, representatives from law enforcement, television news, business, local, county and state government, and a variety of other fields, took time out of their busy schedules to visit with G.C. Hartman Elementary students as part of a national effort to promote literacy among all children.

District 4 Championship at High Noon!

The Boys Basketball Team will compete for the District 4 Class AAA Championship this afternoon against Hughesville High School. The game will be played at Milton Area High School with tip off at 12 noon. Good luck Tigers!

A Closer Look at Recently Approved Facility Projects

The Board of Education recently approved a series of projects designed to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and safety throughout the District's schools and other facilities.

Rehearsals of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in Full Gear!

The cast and crew of Encore have been putting in long hours memorizing lines, practicing dance steps, and fine-tuning comic pratfalls in preparation of this year's musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The fast-moving show will debut on Friday, March 17th with a 7:00 PM performance.

Spaghetti Dinner and Chinese Auction

The Class of 2019 is holding a spaghetti dinner prior to this evening's performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The meal includes spaghetti, meatballs, salad, drinks and dessert. It will be served from 5:00-7:00 PM in the High School Cafeteria. Advance tickets are preferred and they can be purchased from any member of the sophomore class or by contacting advisor Mrs. Jenna Sellers at (570) 356-3458 or jsellers@scasd.us. Costs are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children ages 3-12. Children 2 and under are free. Take-out is also available.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Debuts

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, performed by the Southern Columbia Area High School Music Department and Encore, will debut tonight at 7:00 PM in the High School Auditorium. Fall Booster Planning Meeting

A meeting for all Fall Booster groups will be held in the High School Library beginning at 7:00 PM. The purpose of the meeting is to begin planning for the common use of the booster facilities available at Tiger Stadium. The upcoming stadium renovation project has opened the facilities for use by other groups including the District's field hockey and soccer teams.
