Good Luck is extended to the Lady Tigers Basketball Team in their Distict 4 Class AA semifinal playoff game against East Juniata! The game will be played at Shamokin Area High School with tip off at 7:00 PM.

Students Qualify for Forensics State Championship

Congratulations are extended to Mary Scopelliti, Class of 2017, and Eli Yemzow, Class of 2018, on qualifying for the Pennsylvania High School Speech League (PHSSL) State Championship!

District's Facilities to be Enhanced

At the February 20th, Board of Education Meeting, a variety of projects designed to improve the comfort, safety, and energy efficiency of the District's school buildings were approved. In addition, a major renovation of Tiger Stadium was authorized, opening use of the stadium to new interscholastic, extracurricular, curricular, and community groups.

Staff In-Service Focuses on School Safety

Safety was the theme of the Presidents' Day in-service program attended by all District staff.

Presidents’ Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. Originally established in 1885, in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government.

Student-Initiated Community Service Group Forms

Recently, three members of the Class of 2018, Elijah Hoffman, Kristin Kremser, and Eli Yemzow, met to discuss ways to encourage more volunteerism and community service among their peers.

Students Selected to District Band

Congratulations are extended to Nathan Hunsinger, Breanna Burd, and Seth Barrett who were selected to represent Southern Columbia Area at the 2017 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 8 Band Festival.  Students in grades 9-12 who are members of their school band may audition for a place in the District Band.

Wrestlers' Bronze Medal Marks Historic Finish

Southern Columbia Area's Wrestling Team capped a very successful PIAA Class AA State Duals Tournament, finishing 5-1, earning the program's first state medal!
