The District's counselors have compiled a list of resources they have entitled It's Okay to Ask for Help. The list includes contact phone numbers and web links to resources available to assist those dealing with dating violence/domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse or other personal crises.

Class Takes Hands-on Approach to Study Pros and Cons of Issues

Students enrolled in the Contemporary Issues course taught by Mr. Jerid Lindenmuth recently had an opportunity to explore the issue of Global Climate Change through research and a field trip that brought them into the heart of the Anthracite Coal Region to meet with officials and workers employed in this fossil fuel industry.

Special Meeting Followed by Committee Meetings

The Southern Columbia Board of Directors will hold a Special Meeting for general purposes beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the District Office Conference room.  It will be immediately followed by the May Facilities and Finance Committee meeting.  The meetings are open to the public.

Last Day of School

Today is the last day of school for the 2018-2019 school year. All students will be dismissed at 10:30 AM. Transportation will be provided.

 

Graduation and Last Day of School will be June 11th

Commencement for the Class of 2019 and the last day of school for the 2018-2019 school year will remain June 11th. The day lost due to the spring storm (April 15th) will be made up June 12th through an Act 80 Day (staff professional development day).

The Graduation Ceremony for Southern Columbia Area High School's Class of 2019 will take place this evening at 6:00 PM in Mitrani Hall of the Haas Center for the Arts, located on the campus of Bloomsburg University.

PSSA Idol Entertains and Inspires!

Each year, G.C. Hartman Elementary Center kicks off the statewide assessments with a fun-filled and highly-entertaining variety show which features the school's teachers and staff as the main acts! The PSSA Idol is modeled after the TV show American Idol and features musical acts and test-taking tips delivered by staff members to third and fourth grade students.
