Foreign Language Week to be Celebrated

National Foreign Language Week will be celebrated this week highlighting a different world language each day.  The languages featured this year are Chinese, Italian, French, German, and Spanish.  Activities are planned all week long to get the student body and staff involved! The cafeteria staff will help promote the Foreign Language celebration by preparing traditional lunches each day to match up with the "language of the day."

The Ralpho Township Business Association awarded Emma Steely, Class of 2019, FBLA Student of the Quarter at Southern Columbia High School.

Make your Kindergarten Registration Appointment Now!

Parents of incoming 2019-2020 Kindergarten students are encouraged to visit the Student Registration page (found under the About SCA tab) to begin the online portion of the registration process.  Once completed, a sit-down appointment at the G.C. Hartman Elementary Center can be scheduled. Beginning March 1st, please call (570) 356-3250 to schedule an appointment (after completing the online portion of the registration process). Appointments will be scheduled for the week of April 1-5.

Columbia County Opioid Crisis Seminar

All members of the community are invited to attend a free seminar to learn more about the scourge of opioid addiction and ways to combat it. Hear from EMTs, a family impacted by this crisis, a local high school principal, and others including keynote speaker Ken Lemons from the PA Adult and Teen Challenge Rehabilitation Treatment Center. The seminar will be held at the Central Columbia High School Auditorium beginning at 6:30 PM.

Girls Basketball Playoff Action

Good luck to the Lady Tigers Basketball Team in tonight's District 4 2A Semifinal Playoff game against Mt. Carmel Area High School. Tip off is 7:00 PM at Shamokin Area High School.

Library Club Literacy Night

To kick off Read Across America Week and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter, the Library Club is holding a Harry Potter-themed event on March 1st from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Elementary Gym. Participants will have the opportunity to circulate through ten different activity stations including Quidditch flying lessons, wand-making, sorting hat ceremony. . .and more! Tickets are $2.00 per student and can be purchased in the Elementary, Middle, or High School office ahead of the event. 
 

HART's Family Game Night

On Friday, February 22nd from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Elementary Gym, HART is holding a free family night event featuring Gamewright  board games, life-sized Candyland and Connect Four, and library mini golf! Fifty-percent (50%) of all proceeds from Gamewright games purchased during the event will benefit HART. Snacks, refreshments and spirit sticks are also available for sale.

Grease Opens Tonight!

NHS Red Cross Blood Drive
