Today is the official start date for the 2019 PIAA fall sports season. Good luck to all our student-athletes, coaches, and teams!

Next Superintendent, Solicitor Selected!

Congratulations to Mr. Jim Becker and Mr. Dave Trathen who were selected by the Board of Education to serve as Superintendent and Solicitor, respectively. Mr. Becker will continue to serve as High School Principal until assuming duties as Superintendent on February 4, 2020.  Mr. Trathen assumed duties as Solicitor on August 6th upon the retirement of Richard J.

District Awarded STEM Grant!

Southern Columbia Area has been selected to receive a $10,000.00 grant from the The Grow Rural Education program, sponsored by the Bayer Fund. The program allows eligible farmers to nominate their local public school district for grants to help enhance STEM education. Once nominated, school districts submit applications to compete for grants to help fund projects that enhance their STEM curriculum.

GEICO ESPN HIGH School Kickoff Tickets now on Sale in High School Office

Tickets to the Geigo ESPN High School Kickoff Football Game - Southern Columbia vs. Hammond School in Columbia, SC, are now on sale in the High School Office Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon.  All tickets are $10.  Checks payable to SCA Athletics.  Tickets are limited and may not be available at the gate.

Foundation Chicken and Pulled Pork Dinner

The Southern Columbia Community Foundation is hosting a Chicken and Pulled Pork dinner prior to tonight's Tiger football game vs. Mt. Carmel. The dinner will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM with meals served and/or available for pick up at the Bus Garage adjacent to Tiger Stadium. Meals are $10.00 in advance and $13.00 at the door. Price includes the dinner, a beverage and dessert. Tickets can be purchased in the High School Office, District Office, OIP in Elysburg, and Woody's in Catawissa. All proceeds benefit the District's educational programs.

2019-2020 Free and Reduced Meals Application

The Southern Columbia Area School District offers healthy meals every school day. Breakfast costs for all students are $1.60. Lunch costs for students in grades K through 4 are $2.25 and $2.50 for those in grades 5-12.

Coding Camp Inspires Creativity!

Southern Columbia's Kids Coding Camp exposed rising second through sixth grade students to the logical problem-solving and decision-making approach that the coding process fosters- all while having fun!

The Southern Columbia Area School District Board of Directors will hold a special meeting for general purposes this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the District Office conference room.  The Facilities/Finance Committee will meet immediately following the special meeting.  Both meetings are public meetings.
