SCA and MCA Teachers Unite to Fight Hunger

The public is invited to attend a benefit Kickball game which will pit the teachers of Southern Columbia Area vs. those from Mount Carmel Area. The game will be held at the Mount Carmel Area softball field on Wednesday, October 7thand will begin at 5:00 PM. The admission fee for the event is one canned good food item.

Frank Fullmer Memorial Soccer Field Dedication

On Saturday, September 19, 2015, the Southern Columbia High School and the Girls Soccer program will be holding a ceremony in which the varsity soccer field will officially be renamed the "Frank Fullmer Memorial Soccer Field."  The ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. following the boys game vs. Montomery and prior to the girls game vs.

The 2015-2016 Fresh Food of the Month Campaign Kicks off Today

The first Fresh Food of the Month event for the new school year will take place today during all K-12, lunches and it will feature a water melon salad with micro greens, feta cheese, and poppy seed dressing. The fresh food was grown on local farms with the watermelon coming from Adams Family Farm and the micro greens from Lakeview Specialty Produce.

2-Hour Delay Schedule Today

Today all schools will operate on a planned, two-hour-delay schedule. While students will report to school later than normal, all staff will report at their regular time. The District's educators will use the two-hours to study and analyze student assessment data including PSSA and Keystone Exam results.

Remembering 9/11

Science Club Invites All to Kayak Trip

The High School Science Club is sponsoring a Kayak Trip on Saturday, September 12th from 1:00-5:00 PM. The trip begins and ends at public parks in Bloomsburg, taking kayakers through 6 miles of the North Branch Susquehanna River. The cost of the trip is $45 per person with a kayak rental, and $35 per person with your own kayak. Reservations are required. Students and staff interested in attending should contact High School Science teacher Ms. Kristen Vitkauskas for paperwork and payment. 

Special School Board Meeting, 6:30 p.m.

The Southern Columbia Area School District Board of Directors will hold a special meeting for general purposes at 6:30 p.m. in the District Office conference room.  It will be immediately followed by a Facilities/Finance Committee meeting.   Both meetings are open to the public.
