Tigers Win District IV Class AA Football Title!

Congratulations to the Tiger Football Team on capturing their first-ever, District IV Class AA Championship! The Tigers claimed the title in their second year of competition at the Class AA level. Prior to this, the team competed in Class A, amassing 22 District IV A crowns between 1991 and 2013.

Good luck to the Tiger Football Football Team who open state football playoff action this afternoon with a contest against Berks Catholic. The game will be played at Governor Mifflin High School with kickoff set for 1:00 PM.  The field is located at 10 S. Waverly Street, Shillington, PA 19607. Click here for driving directions.

Honor Societies Induct New Class of Select Students

Each year, an elite group of Southern Columbia Area students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, are recognized for their accomplishments through induction into either the National Honor Society (reserved for students in grades 10-12) or the National Junior Honor Society (reserved for students in grades 9 or 8).

PIAA Reclassifications Announced

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association‎ (PIAA) has released its long-anticipated enrollment classifications which has reclassified or reorganized Pennsylvania's high school's into new divisions beginning with 2016-2017, school year. These changes will be in effect the following year too. The Southern Columbia Area Boy's Basketball team will compete in 3A, while Baseball, Field Hockey, Football, Girls Basketball, Softball, Track, and Wrestling will be grouped in the 2A division.

Book Fair Purchases Can Also Be Made Online

The Elementary Book Fair will be open the entire school day today, except from 10:00-10:30 AM. The Book Fair will also be open from 12 noon until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 12 noon until 6:30 PM on Tuesday. Librarian Allison Burrell also reports that books can be ordered online by visiting http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/gches .
