SoCo Happy Week!

The Middle School will be celebrating Happy Week during the week of March 24.  The School-wide Positive Behavioral Support Team has a variety of activities planned to reinforce positive behaviors and generate positive energy for the upcoming PSSA testing.

Food of the Month Initiative Off to a Great Start!

As part of an initiative to promote wellness and Farm to School partnerships, Southern Columbia Area High School and Middle School students will have access to locally grown food, served once a month at lunchtime. The first  Food of the Month Day was held on Wednesday, March 12th and proved to be a hit with the students.

Tobacco Awareness program sponsored by the Geisinger Medical Group of Elysburg will be presented to students in grade 4 & 5.  Program will be held at 1:00pm in the Elementary Large Group Area.

Interviewing Strategies Program

Tony Rodriguez, a representative of Knoebel's Amusement Park will present job interviewing strategies and skills to the 8th grade students.  The program will help to prepare interested students for the upcoming job fair at the park.

SMART Magazine Kickoff Assembly

Middle School students will begin their magazine fund drive with an assembly during activity period.  Please help support SMART by purchasing or renewing magazine subscription through any middle school student.

Middle School Dance

The MS Student Council is sponsoring a dance from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.  The dance is an optional semi-formal and refreshments and photographs will be available for purchase.  Tickets can be purchased from Mrs. Phillips in advance for $3 or at the door for $4.  Parents are to drop off and pick students up at the old middle school entrance.
