Students Shine at Regional Computer Fair!

Southern Columbia Area students competing in the 2016 Regional Middle School Fair captured two First Place awards and have advanced to the state computer fair competition to be held at Dickinson College in May.

Special Agent Janene Holter of the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office will speak to all Middle School students this morning about basic ways to stay safe while online, and the importance of being an ethical online user. Discussions concerning a student's digital footprint while texting, using social media and other means of online/mobile communication will be a part of this morning's assemblies.

Wrestling Team on the Rise!

Congratulations to the Tiger Wrestling team who finished as one of the top eight teams in the state at the PIAA Class AA Team Wrestling Championships. "We proved we belonged,” stated Head Coach Jerry Marks. We needed a showing like this. It is great for the program!" Also enjoying a great week was the Junior High Wrestling Team which won the 2016 District 4 Heartland Tournment of Champions at Shamokin Area High School. Congratulations to our coaches and wrestlers on a successful season!

All students and staff are invited to participate in this week's Holiday Spirit Week sponsored by the Middle School Student Council. Today's event is Holiday HatsWear your favorite holiday hat, or dress in red and green!  Have fun but remember all days must follow school dress code guidelines.   If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Phillips.



 

Students in Grades 7-12 Invited to Learn About Future Career Possibilities

A Future Careers Expo will be held on Thursday, October 29th from 6 to 8:30 PM in the Kehr Union ballroom at Bloomsburg University.  Students and their parents are invited to join regional employers and educational institutions for a night of career exploration, free of charge.  Enjoy door prizes and light refreshments.  Pre-register at www.bloomu.edu/stem-careers to be eligible for door prizes.
