The nurses’ office will no longer be providing cough drops starting with the 2012-2013 school year. Your child is allowed to bring in their own cough drops if needed.

SCA MEDICATION POLICY: If your child will need any medication (over-the-counter, as needed, short-term or long-term) during their school day, the parent/guardian is required to bring the medication to school with an order from their physician. Only students who are prescribed to self-carry (inhalers or epi-pens) are allowed to carry their medication during school hours. For all other medications brought to school, the parent/guardian will be required to verify the medication prior to administration by a nurse. MANDATED EXAMS:

Physical exams are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for students in Kindergarten, 6th and 11th grade. Please have your child’s physical exam completed and the physical exam form returned to the nurses’ office before February 1, 2015. Dental exams are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for students in Kindergarten, 3rd and 7th grade. Please have your child’s dental exam completed and the dental exam form returned to the nurses’ office as soon as possible before February 1st. IMMUNIZATION CHANGES EFFECTIVE FOR 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR:

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, effective for the 2017-2018 school year, all K-12 students are required to have a 4th dose of the Polio vaccination, with the 4th dose being administered on or after the student's 4th birthday prior to the start of the 2017-2018 school year.

7th grade students are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to have a Tetanus (Tdap) and Meningococcal  (MCV) vaccination prior to the start of their 7th grade school year. Please have your child’s immunizations udated and return immunization documentation to the nurses’ office before August 24, 2017.

12th grade students are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to have a dose of the Meningococcal (MCV) vaccination that was given at 16 years of age or older prior to the start of the 2017-2018 school year.
