The nurses’ office will no longer be providing cough drops starting with the 2012-2013 school year. Your child is allowed to bring in their own cough drops if needed.

SCA MEDICATION POLICY: If your child will need any medication (over-the-counter, as needed, short-term or long-term) during their school day, the parent/guardian is required to bring the medication to school with an order from their physician. Only students who are prescribed to self-carry (inhalers or epi-pens) are allowed to carry their medication during school hours. For all other medications brought to school, the parent/guardian will be required to verify the medication prior to administration by a nurse. Physical exams are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for students in Kindergarten, 6th and 11th grade. Please have your child’s physical exam completed and the physical exam form returned to the nurses’ office before February 1, 2015. Dental exams are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for students in Kindergarten, 3rd and 7th grade. Please have your child’s dental exam completed and the dental exam form returned to the nurses’ office before February 1, 2015. For a copy of the dental exam form, see under the Medical Form tab.

7th grade students are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to have a Tetanus and Meningococcal vaccination prior to May 1, 2015. Please have your child’s immunizations updated and return immunization documentation to the nurses’ office before May 1, 2015.
