The students and teachers of Southern Columbia Area's Career Development Program have been coordinating the District's participation in the local Salvation Army's 2013 Food Drive. The goal of this year's drive is to provide food to 800 local families, including more than 2000 children, who reside in either Southern Columbia's communities or in Shamokin or in Mt. Carmel. The Food Drive will conclude Friday, December December 6th. Students, staff and visitors can make donations at collection sites set up in each of the District's schools.

The items needed are:

  • Instant Potatoes
  • Stove Top Stuffing
  • Cranberries
  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Gravy
  • Cake Mixes and Frosting
  • Hams
  • Turkeys
  • Chicken
  • Pasta and Sauce

Monetary donations are also being accepted. As a FYI, a $10 donation can feed a family of two. Checks should be made out to the Salvation Army.
