Strategic Planning Survey
This survey will be given to parents, designated students, board members, administrators, teachers and staff. The purpose of this particular survey is to record impressions of our district in nine specific areas that have been proven to elevate the performance of an educational system.
Your responses should be based on actual, first hand experience rather than hearsay. You may respond to all of the items, or just to specific items where you want to note positives to maintain or negatives to change.
You should complete your survey no later than Friday, March 7 and return it to the District Office at 800 Southern Drive, Catawissa, PA 17820. Please mail it or deliver it to the attention of Roy Clippinger, Director of Curriculum, and Instruction & Assessment.
Your survey will be included with all others, then summarized as part of the “Needs Assessment” of our district for action planning by the eight separate planning teams within strategic planning. In addition to this survey, many other groups of data will be reviewed and summarized such as district budgets, schedules, calendars, student test scores, faculty instructional content surveys, professional education surveys, supervisory efforts, communications within and without, parental and community support, and leadership roles. You may identify yourself by name or at least by category (i.e. elementary school parent; high school staff member; board member; community member/business; middle school teacher; etc.)
Directions: Read each of the nine, titled areas of focus, then the positive description of that focus area. If you believe that statement communicates your impression of our school mark “strongly agree” or “agree” on the attached scale next to the focus number. If your first hand experience is otherwise, mark “disagree” or “strongly disagree” next to that focus number. Again, your responses should be based on actual, first hand experiences not hearsay. You may respond to all of the items, or just specific items where you want to note positives to maintain or negatives to change. Also, below each of the nine focus area scales there is a comment section for you to record specific thoughts that may clarify your impressions.
Reading the responses: If you are an elementary school parent, your responses will be viewed as pertaining to the elementary school. If you are a middle school teacher, your responses will be viewed as pertaining to the middle school. If you would like to comment on both a specific school and the entire school district you may use check marks: (? s) (? d) for school and for district, or you may indicate the difference in the comment section for each focus area.
