We are exactly 1️⃣ week away from the curtains opening on this year's Encore production. The students have been working tirelessly over the past few months to cultivate a captivating performance for the community.
"Little Shop of Horrors" is a musical comedy about a flower shop assistant named Seymour who cultivates a plant that feeds only on human blood. Mr. Mushnik, the owner of the flower shop and Seymour’s boss, is ready to give up his dreams of having a popular flower shop on the poverty-stricken skid row when he discovers that Seymour’s plant seems to attract new business. As the unusual plant grows, the shops popularity does too, but so does the plants insatiable hunger. Seymour, pressured by both his newfound fame and demanding boss, is forced to find new ways to feed the plant, all while dealing with his ever-growing guilt. Will Seymour give in and feed his beloved Audrey 2? Come and see to find out! 🪴🏵️

5th Graders recently enjoyed Read Across America Day activities, along with their monthly celebration, which included a Newcomb tournament. Newcomb is a modified volleyball game involving players catching and tossing the ball, instead of hitting it over the net. 📚🏐

Students in Mr. Williams' 6th Grade Computer Class have recently begun exploring spreadsheets. Students have worked on creating pixel art within a spreadsheet and then transitioned to creating graphs and tables utilizing formulas in order to automatically calculate data and display it in a visual manner.
February is "Love The Bus Month." We'd like to take this opportunity to showcase some of the amazing school bus drivers who make safe student transportation possible in our district. Thank you to all of our bus drivers for their service and dedication! 🚌🐯

A new, FREE mathematics tutoring program for anyone in grades 7-12 will be starting on March 4th. It will take place every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in High School - Rm 211 (Mrs. Troutman’s room) from 3:00-4:00 PM. There will be both teacher and student tutors available to help with homework, test review, and standardized testing preparation. Please note, transportation will NOT be provided. Students were given flyers in their math class. They can sign up using the QR code on the flyer. Students must sign up for each day they want to come for tutoring. If you have any questions about the program, you can contact Mrs. Shannon Troutman at stroutman@scasd.us.
