Attention parents of incoming K-8th grade girls: The SCA Girls Soccer Team is holding their 21st annual Girls Soccer Skills Camp! Camp will be held July 10-12th, 2023 from 5PM – 8PM. THIS MESSAGE ONLY PERTAINS TO STUDENTS IN GRADES 7-12 AND THEIR PARENTS: Attached is the finals exam schedule. There are NO permission slips needed to be turned in by students. All students must report to school by 8:10am during finals. If students have a first final but not a second final, they may leave after their first final. If students have a second final and not a first, students MUST still report to school by 8:10am. If students do not have finals on a given day their parents MUST submit a note on Sapphire that the student will not be in school that day due to not having a final. All students are dismissed after the second final on each day of finals. On June 1 and 2, if students do not have transportation to leave after finals that day, they must report to the cafeteria for Megasub and Lunch until dismissal at 2:50pm. There is one more opportunity to view the High School Art Show on Wednesday, May 24. The doors open at 6:30 pm for the Middle School Spring Concert, and the Art Show will be open to the public during that time. The art is on display in the lobby located between the auditorium and the new gymnasium. All art students in Grades 9 through 12 have art featured in the show for you to enjoy. Middle School students in 6th Grade are working on their coding skills by creating mini-block games utilizing Microsoft MakeCode. Students begin their coding journey by utilizing a tutorial and are then able to select a game of their choice to build. Upon completion of their challenge, students are encouraged to share their game with other students to play and test their code.

The 7th Grade SOCO STAR Student of the Month for Science in April is Taylor Haines. Taylor has shown tremendous growth throughout the course of this school year in Science class. Lately, Taylor has been lighting it up on tests, quizzes, labs, and projects. Taylor's passion and excitement for science is clear and Taylor comes to class eager to learn every day. The SOCO STAR Student of the Month for ELA in April is Liam Gray. Liam is a hard worker and always on task. He never misses assignments and hands his work in on time. He participates in class and asks questions when needed. He makes good use of his time both in and out of the classroom. He is positive and friendly and is able to have fun and joke around while also producing high quality work. He is responsible and a great leader in the classroom. The SOCO STAR Student of the Month for Math is Isabella Miller. Isabella is a model student. She is eager to learn and loves to volunteer in class. She has a great math mind as demonstrated with her achieving an 8.0 on MobyMax! She gets along with her peers and is a leader in our small group setting. The SOCO STAR Student of the Month for Geography is Jax Margel. Jax has done an outstanding job all year in geography. He is always well-prepared for class, tests and quizzes. He has a positive attitude and great work ethic. He is involved in extracurricular activities and shows great responsibility. He is respectful and kind to others and is a great role model.

The 6th Grade students who earned the 3rd Marking Period Celebration for their good behavior participated in a Kickball Tournament. In the championship game, Team Inequality defeated Team TDA in walk-off fashion by a score of 7-6. Team Nonfiction beat Team Equation 7-5 in the consolation game. Team members of the championship winning team, pictured from left to right, are Izzy Long, Serenity Eugster-Stanfill, Brenna Thomas, Jacey Webster, Kaylee Shingara, Addison Wittig, Gavin Trometter, Jackson Koch, Noah Hockenbroch, Dallas Brandon, and Joey Katch. Despite not winning the title, the teachers voted Addison Evans from Team TDA as the tournament's MVP.
