Southern Columbia picked up a big win Friday night, defeating Central Columbia to improve to 3β1 on the season. The Tigers came out strong and set the tone early with an explosive running game and a balanced offensive attack. Southern didnβt go easy on the quarterback, intercepting two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caden Hopper and Kaden Zachman.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead the Tigers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Hockenbroch, who threw for 146 yards and three touchdowns on a perfect 5-for-5 passing night. Brayden Andrews supported Hockenbroch on the ground, rushing for 61 yards and two scores on just five carries.
On defense, the Tigers were just as impressive. They flew to the ball, created pressure, and kept Central from ever finding a rhythm. The energy and discipline on both sides of the ball showed why Southern Columbia is consistently one of the toughest teams in the area. With this victory, the Tigers continue to build momentum as they head deeper into the season.
