Welcome to the Southern Columbia Area School District. The information provided below is to help acquaint you with the Southern Columbia Area School District and its schools. There are three schools in the District, which serve approximately 1,229 students. This includes one elementary school, and one middle school and one high school, which are both under one roof. The elementary school enrollment is approximately 455. The middle school enrollment is approximately 397, and high school enrollment is approximately 377.

ANTICIPATED TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST - ENTRY LEVEL. Anticipated full-time, 12-month position. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer field preferred.  Working knowledge of and experience with PC, Mac, networking, and hardware repair required, with experience in mobile technologies a plus. (Act 93 Administrative Compensation Plan with healthcare/vision/dental/life insurance benefits, and PSERS retirement.)  Salary regionally competitive based on experience.  Enrollment 782 grades 5-12.  Requirements:  Master's degree, valid PA principal certificate secondary or K-12, evidence of strong building-level leadership, effective management, supervision, and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate expertise in instructional leadership and staff supervision.  Must be knowledgeable of overall building operations and management in collaboration with other administrative colleagues.  Must be knowledgeable of educational best practices, building level budgeting practices, and have the ability and experience to build and maintain positive community relations. MEGA SUB
Position available immediately. Schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. $120 per day. Mega Sub is responsible for monitoring one to multiple classes in a large group setting. SUBSTITUTE TRANSPORTATION AIDES – to assist with the transportation of special needs students on an as needed basis. Must have ability to maintain discipline and assist driver with students’ needs. EXCLUSIVE SUBSTITUTES
Exclusive Substitutes will commit to working a minimum of 70 days to a maximum of 140 days in the Southern Columbia Area School District .  Each Exclusive Substitute will work based on a predetermined schedule at a rate of $120 per day.  Pennsylvania Teaching certification required for the level where the substitute will be working.  Guest Teacher emergency permits also acceptable. Please complete the online Employment Interest Form (link above). Provide classroom management and carry out lesson plans left by the teacher and fill-in for the day to day activities of the classroom teacher. Positions pay is $100.00 per day. Job Requirements: PDE Certification preferred but not required; Minimum: BA/BS degree in any discipline; PA Department of Education Clearances (Criminal Check, Fingerprints, Child Abuse);College education majors with 60 credits are also eligible to apply.
