Mr. Mensch's 9th Grade Honors English students took a break from reading Fahrenheit 451 to serve as listening buddies in some 3rd and 4th Grade classrooms yesterday morning. This experience is part of an MTSS initiative in the elementary school. The younger students are working on skills such as word reading, fluency, and comprehension. The best way to accomplish these goals is to read aloud as much as possible to anyone who is willing to patiently listen. The 3rd and 4th Graders found some Freshmen who were all ears! 📖
Dr. Cindy Reck recently treated 7th Grade Science students to a fun lesson on food chemistry! Students learned about emulsions by making and tasting their own vinaigrette dressing!
Mrs. Toczylousky's and Mrs. Coombe's 5th Grade classes helped Second Grade with their Pumpkinology activities last week. 🎃

Seven FBLA executive board members and two advisors attended the State Leadership Workshop at Kalahari this past weekend. Students and advisors attended business workshops and learned more about leadership and competitive events.
Miss Yoder's Agricultural Science students were guided through the process of pressing apple cider yesterday. Thank you to Mr. Bob Reed for instructing the students and to Green's Fruit Farm for donating the apples! It was a beautiful day for the SCA Agriculture Department and its students to take part in a hands-on learning experience. 🍎🧺🍂

Students in Mrs. Spotts' Third Grade class participated in a cross curricular activity yesterday. In spooky season spirit, students collected data from various high school classrooms regarding students' favorite Halloween candy. Third Graders used both mathematics and scientific analysis to create bar graphs and pictographs to display the results of their data collection. 🎃➕🍫

It improves blood flow to the brain which in turn increases cognitive function.
