Amanda Strocko has experienced significant successes during her time in FBLA. This past school year, she won a competitive election to become Vice President of Region 7. She placed first in Business Ethics at the regional level, and 4th at the state level, qualifying her for Nationals. At Nationals, she placed 3rd in the nation in Business Ethics and first in her capstone project on water quality, earning her the $5,000 prize. She also has earned a Keystone Leadership Award and was accepted into the Business Honor Society this past school year. SCA is proud of you, Amanda!

On Tuesday August 8th in the High School Auditorium High School Principal Mr. Henry Hynoski and Athletic Director Steve Pesarchick presented to the Student Athletes of SCA a presentation titled SCA Personal Conduct Series. Lanny Conner Memorial 5k

Amanda Strocko, an upcoming senior, and Ryan Hricenak, a recent graduate, competed in Atlanta, Georgia at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) national conference. Both qualified for the national conference based on their outstanding performances at the state conference in April. Amanda placed third in the nation in her competitive event, Business Ethics! Amanda also placed first in the nation for her capstone project on water quality improvement. She won the grand $5,000 prize! SCA is so proud of both of these students' amazing accomplishments.

In its 38th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, Gatorade today announced Loren Gehret of Southern Columbia High School is the 2022-23 Gatorade Pennsylvania Girls Soccer Player of the Year. The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Gehret as Pennsylvania’s best high school girls soccer player. Loren is the first Gatorade Pennsylvania Girls Soccer Player of the Year to be chosen from Southern Columbia High School and joins fellow tiger Julian Fleming in receiving this honor. Loren ends her career with 139 goals and 76 assists and will continue playing this fall at Monmouth University. #GatoradePOY

Despite last year's dry summer, our native species meadows, that were planted in the fall of 2021 by Native Creations, are in bloom and once again providing blankets of color throughout the campus.
