Our beautiful elementary center this morning! Have a wonderful weekend!

Today was the Big Reveal...behind the box in the lobby of the elementary center was...our new Book Vending Machine! Congratulations to the first book "buyers" in each grade level! We are always creative when it comes to educating our Tigers!

Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy our 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat event last night. We hope that you and your family had a wonderful evening.

Pumpkin #11 took first place in the Family and Consumer Sciences pumpkin carving competition. Pumpkins were voted on by trick-or-treaters during the SCA Trunk or Treat Event.

Mrs. Roulin's Foundations of Art students experimented with color mixing to create these "spooktacular" jack-o-lanterns.

Parenting and Child Development students were tasked with painting a pumpkin based on a children's book. Pumpkins were voted on by trick-or-treaters during the Trunk or Treat event. Group A with their Winnie the Pooh themed pumpkin won first place.

Students in Kindergarten and First Grade have been enjoying some Halloween sensory fun in the Library this week. Mrs. Kane-Gilger had students explore "witches' hair" and "Halloween tree seeds" as a sorting and counting activity. Students got creative while exploring the different textures and having a bit of fun.

Which witches and wizards were casting splendid spells at SCA yesterday? We found these kind conjurers at G.C. Hartman Elementary School.

Mrs. Troutman's Statistics students were testing the variability of surface tension on a penny compared to a quarter.

Congratulations to Sophomores Sydney Bingaman and Hannah Reibsome for being awarded 2nd place in the Halloween Window Painting contest held by The Exchange in Bloomburg. They competed against 6 area schools, and 83 windows were painted in the competition. Great job!

Mr. Roughton's AOPA Aviation class visited the Bloomsburg Municipal Airport. They were engaged in presentations from the Civil Air Patrol, EMU, and the Airport Manager. On tour they saw different planes, a T hangar, a gyroplane, and talked about aviation careers.

Our Pre-K Counts friends made predictions about what is behind the tall box. We will see if any of them are correct on Friday!

Eighth grade students in Mrs. Konyar’s class earned their positive behavior reward. These students have exhibited self-control, shown tolerance and patience, and have truly shined as stars by treating each other with kindness. They earned hot fudge brownie/ice cream sundaes. Keep shining SOCO Tigers!!

Kindergarten participated in an afternoon nature walk where they learned why leaves turn colors and fall to the ground in Autumn. They collected, observed, and investigated leaves and enjoyed the beautiful Fall day.
