
February is "Love The Bus Month." We'd like to take this opportunity to showcase some of the amazing school bus drivers who make safe student transportation possible in our district. Thank you to all of our bus drivers for their service and dedication! 🚌🐯

A new, FREE mathematics tutoring program for anyone in grades 7-12 will be starting on March 4th. It will take place every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in High School - Rm 211 (Mrs. Troutman’s room) from 3:00-4:00 PM. There will be both teacher and student tutors available to help with homework, test review, and standardized testing preparation. Please note, transportation will NOT be provided. Students were given flyers in their math class. They can sign up using the QR code on the flyer. Students must sign up for each day they want to come for tutoring. If you have any questions about the program, you can contact Mrs. Shannon Troutman at stroutman@scasd.us.


A new tradition has made its mark in the high school. The High School Art Club President, Sophia Boucher, under the direction of Mrs. Roulin, painted a cinder block for each musical production directed by Mrs. McWilliams. Great job, Sophia!

Ninth Grade students in Mrs. Becker's Office Applications class were recently provided with a bag of Valentine's Day candy and asked to sort and log the candy in tables in an Access database. They then created queries of the data based on characteristics of the candy. Students were able to enjoy the treats at the end of the lesson.







The Southern Columbia Student Support Team is wrapping up Be Kind week today by sporting their matching attire. Remember to always Be Kind. It does not cost anything, and you never know how much your positive actions will brighten a person's day.

The Southern Columbia Bocce team came out victorious in yesterday's match versus Shamokin. This was the last contest of the regular season for the squad. Each team member was also awarded with their Varsity letter at the match. Congratulations Tigers!


Michaela Williams is at PMEA District Orchestra for the next two days performing with students from all over our area!


Seniors Isaac Carter and Gavin Krebs visited a Tiger Youth Basketball practice last night to talk to the players about the importance of teamwork, supporting one another through ups and downs, and building life-long skills through participation in school activities.


The Tiger Community would like to congratulate Brian Britton for reaching the 1,000 point milestone as a Southern Columbia Tiger against Shamokin Area. Brian has also announced that he will be attending Wilkes University to further his academic and athletic career. We wish him the best!

These singers were ready for a concert. We are so proud of them and all of their hard work. What a fantastic concert it was. Congratulations to Saira Sodergren for advancing to Regional Choir. Out of 46 singers she placed 8th and is moving on. What an amazing feat. Great job!

Pictured here are our SCA Lady Tigers with their awards at the National High School Cheerleading Championships last week in Texas. They placed 5th in the Advanced Division, received the Best Use of Stunts Specialty Award, and were recognized as a top 10 finalist in the USA (of all high schools, no matter the division). Our Lady Tigers will compete at the PIAA Cheerleading States tomorrow morning.


Mr. Lindenmuth's Contemporary Issues class is doing a community project in conjunction with Mr. Ted Yeager for the upcoming Catawissa 250th anniversary.
