
New members of the National Honor Society and the National Junior Honor Society were inducted in a ceremony on Tuesday evening. Congratulations to all new inductees!



Competing at Bucknell in their first Indoor Track and Field meet of the season are SCA alumni Alex Morrison, Karly Renn, and Hannah Davis. They are pictured with their former teacher and coach Ted Deljanovan, who is also a coach for Bucknell.


Coach Mike Woytowich the Southern Columbia Area Boys Basketball Team recently volunteered at the local Toys for Tots in preparing for the upcoming Christmas season.




The Tech Ed Club is selling black and gold leather ornaments for $5.00 each. Stop in the High School office to see them on display and pick yours up today!


These girls are out and about today distributing quarters, dryer sheets, and detergent pods at three local laundromats. The funds were raised as part of the High School's November Grade Challenge, Quarter Wars, between grades 9-12. A total of $231.50 was raised for this community service project.


Congratulations to our Girls Soccer Team for qualifying for the State Final on Friday, Nov 18, at 10AM at Eagle View MS, Mechanicsburg. There will be no school on Friday to allow students & staff to attend the game. Make-up day will be Feb 17. Best of luck girls! Bring home gold!

SCA vs. MCA District 4 Football AA Championship.


On Tuesday and Wednesday, Kemilyn Hill, Sarah Eyer, Saira Sodergren, and Maggie Stauder participated in County Choir at Berwick High School. This is the first festival in two years, and it was great to resume this event with so many talented students from surrounding schools.




Thanksgiving Spirit Week will take place November 14-18. Please see the attached flyer and plan to participate!


Mrs. Roulin's art elective students have prepared a variety of artwork to welcome our special guests on Friday for Veterans Day. Students did their best work as a demonstration of their thanks to those who have served our country.

Small business owner and professor Dr. Curt Jones spoke to FBLA students about satisfying a need in the market and the importance of hard work. "If someone can create a pet rock for millions, there's an opportunity for everyone."



Mrs. Becker and Miss Benfer's Intro to Business classes created a Halloween bulletin board entitled "Ghosts of Brands Past" featuring tombstones of defunct companies or brands.

Pumpkin #11 took first place in the Family and Consumer Sciences pumpkin carving competition. Pumpkins were voted on by trick-or-treaters during the SCA Trunk or Treat Event.


Mrs. Roulin's Foundations of Art students experimented with color mixing to create these "spooktacular" jack-o-lanterns.



Parenting and Child Development students were tasked with painting a pumpkin based on a children's book. Pumpkins were voted on by trick-or-treaters during the Trunk or Treat event. Group A with their Winnie the Pooh themed pumpkin won first place.


Mrs. Troutman's Statistics students were testing the variability of surface tension on a penny compared to a quarter.

Congratulations to Sophomores Sydney Bingaman and Hannah Reibsome for being awarded 2nd place in the Halloween Window Painting contest held by The Exchange in Bloomburg. They competed against 6 area schools, and 83 windows were painted in the competition. Great job!
