9th and 10th grade students are starting to work on their career essays as part of their Graduation Project. The 9th graders are writing about three potential career paths they might want to take. 10th grade will only be writing about one career in an effort to narrow down their decisions.

On April 8, 2022, Stephanie Lynch, a representative from the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, met with 11th and 12th grade students in Mrs. Schwalm's class. The topic of discussion was transferable and soft skills as they relate to employment. She also discussed the opportunities and resources available at Career Link.

Fridays (04/01) Varsity Baseball game vs Bloomsburg has been moved from Southern Columbia and will now be played at Bloomsburg HS on Friday at 4:30pm. Our Varsity game @ Bloomsburg scheduled for Mon April 25th will now be played at Southern Columbia instead of at Bloomsburg also at 4:30pm.
On Tuesday, March 29, Mrs. Troutman and Mrs. Roughton took two teams of four students to the 23rd Annual High School Math Contest held at Bloomsburg University. The students were involved in a Quiz Bowl, the Game of 24, and various Brainteasers. Attending students included: Jaron Ferrara, Wyatt Roadarmel, Brock Dunkelberger, and Savich Chapman (Team 1), and Joseph Quinton, Jake Rose, Michael Zsido, and Gabe Leffler (Team 2). Out of approximately 30 teams, Southern Columbia's Team One (Ferrara, Roadarmel, Dunkelberger, and Chapman) placed sixth in the Game of 24 and eighth overall in the head-to-head quiz bowl.
Agriculture Awareness Day will take place on Saturday, April 2, at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. Please see the flyer for additional details.
