Recently, Mr. Lindenmuth's World History classes completed a unit on Muslim civilizations where they discussed Muslim empires established in India and the religious diversity between Hindus and Muslims living there.  They also explored the Taj Mahal and overall culture of India.

To help deepen connections to this unit of study, Mrs. Keller, our Library Paraprofessional, visited his World History classes to share her experiences from the year she spent in India at age thirty-seven. Her journey began in Bangalore, a lively city full of color and energy. There, she took time to learn the local way of living: how people worked, cooked, and connected with one another. Many of the people she met spoke Malayalam, and though it was new to her, she enjoyed learning simple phrases and understanding their conversations. Over the months, she came to appreciate the simplicity, warmth, and kindness that surrounded her each day. As part of her presentation, Mrs. Keller brought back items from India to show the class, sharing artifacts, textiles, and some everyday tools that captured the rich culture she experienced there.

Last week, our High School and Middle School students were encouraged to dress up for Halloween Spirit Week. Each day brought a new theme, and students went all out to show their creativity and Halloween pride. The days were as follows: Monday - Flannel Day, Tuesday - Pink Out, Wednesday - Pajama Day, Thursday - Assigned Halloween Color, Friday - Costume Day. Spirit Week is important because it is something fun the whole school can participate in. It can take our minds off of stressful situations as we dress up for fun and embrace our school spirit with friends and teachers. Thank you to all students and staff who participated in this event.

Students participated in a fun, whole-group speech activity for Halloween with Mrs. Huntington and Mrs. Deljanovan today. They selected their own pumpkins, communicated their color choices, and painted them. Students also worked together to decorate additional pumpkins, which are now proudly displayed outside the elementary building to show support for our sports teams as they head into the playoffs! 🎃

Yesterday, Second Grade had the opportunity to visit Rohrbach's Farm for their fall field trip. Classes learned about different varieties of gourds, apples, and pumpkins. Students picked their own pumpkin from the field and ended the day playing in the playland area. It was a fun and rewarding day for all! 🍎🍂
